What is Drastic + Dramatic

If it's really such a big deal, let's just do this:

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God (or not), indivisible (...or not), with liberty and justice for all.

On July 4th my dad and I talked about the Pledge and how when he was growing up the 'under God' wasn't in there. It was only added in the 1950s (I think). At my kids' school they say the Pledge every morning with the 'under God' in there.

yah, I was reading this site off a search engine and it said how it was Dwight D Eisenhower that approved the words "under God" to the recitation on Flag Day, June 14, 1954 (you were right!). Regarding the change he said, "In this way we are reaffirming the transcendence of religious faith in America's heritage and future; in this way we shall constantly strengthen those spiritual weapons which forever will be our country's most powerful resource in peace and war."

I'm religious and really think this country would be worth as much as anything I flush down the toilet without citizens with living belief in God in this nation under Him. Could it really make that much of a difference? Probably mostly to God. I doubt He would want to be forgotten for all He has done for this land and its settlers.

While I'm not especially religious, I am very spiritual. I see no problem with recognizing the Blessings our country has received from its beginning. It's my impression that our Founding Fathers felt especially driven by Providence and felt it was important to remember that. The Separation of Church and State is mostly about making sure that no one religion is forced upon the People. But it isn't about keeping God or religious influences out of our lives.
